So, this is the week after our Japan trip, and let me just tell you, we got hammered by some jet lag and Holly also managed to pick up a double ear infection. Don't even know how that happened. But flying back on Sunday, she had a lot of vertigo, and it was really unpleasant for her. A lot of motion sickness, which normally she doesn't get on the plane at all, but she felt just terrible. And since the flight was about 14 hours, that's a long time to be miserable, but she got through it.
We got back on Sunday, got dinner to go, and then went pretty much right to bed. Me and Holly did at least. I think the boys stayed up. They have a little more energy than we do, and Monday was obviously a holiday, which was good because we had not built into our schedule to have some downtime to just recover from all the jet lag. But I think we just slept a lot. It was great to be back in our own bed after being gone for two weeks. I had forgotten how soft our bed is. Just a bigger pillow top and I missed it while we were traveling.
There were a bunch of delays in getting it approved through the claims process and getting it scheduled with the roofer and all that. During that time period, it had rained up at High Point multiple times, which I guess the tarp couldn't keep all the water out. So, there was
She left Noah there. He was going to deal with the roofers who were due to come on Thursday to redo that roof. She then drove back to Charlotte and flew back to Atlanta with me. We flew back that afternoon. The flight was rough for her since her ears hurt. Finally, I made her go to the doctor on Wednesday. That's when they diagnosed her with a double ear infection and a sinus infection and got her on some medication.
Then Thursday we had roofers at my Peachtree City house because we'd had some shingle damage due to some storms and that roof was getting replaced and the roof in High Point was getting replaced all on Thursday. It was crazy. I think there were 20 people at my house, who did all kinds of things, getting it off. I've never seen them take a roof down and put it up so fast. I think a day, day and a half, they were done. It was crazy. But of course, they had a whole bunch of people. It looked like they did a great job on that. Me and Holly were supposed to go to a conference over the weekend, but we were both super, super sick. I think on Friday we laid down for a nap because we were feeling terrible at 2:00 and didn't wake up until 8:00.
Then went and got some dinner and went right back to bed at 10:00 and that's when I knew the conference just wasn't going to happen. We then did the same thing on Saturday. So undoubtedly something just did a doozy on me as well all through the weekend, I just tried to sleep and rest. It was pretty brutal. I forget how much I hate being sick, but both roofs got done. We got the recording done on Tuesday as well and managed to get through the week. Hope you are all doing well. As always, if you are in pain, call Shane!
