Justice Wins: See How We’re Fighting for You!

Image - 2024-07-23T093638.725Last week felt like a whirlwind; it seemed like everything was packed into just a few days, and I'm not even sure exactly why. Monday flew by in a blink. I had my one-on-one session with my business coach, which was really productive. I've started working on rehabbing my ankle a bit more seriously—I got on the stationary bike a few times. My wife has a Peloton, and, to be honest, I’d never really touched it before, but I decided to give it a shot to test my ankle's flexibility. It went pretty well, so I was happy to see some progress there.

Tuesday was completely booked with an all-day business meeting with members of one of my coaching groups. We gathered to talk about our goals and targets for the next month and mapped out what we wanted to achieve. We also had a few 'hot seat' sessions where members brought their specific business challenges to the group for feedback and advice. It was mostly focused on setting our targets for the next 30 days and starting to think about the upcoming year. It’s funny how everyone gets laser-focused on the calendar year as it comes to a close, setting new goals and planning for the future. We’re gearing up for a big in-person event in November, which is going to be a key opportunity to set everything in motion for January.

Wednesday, as usual, was filled with my regular meetings. We’re trying out some new approaches with the teams, so I spent time talking with the various managers and team leads to discuss those initiatives. I’m really encouraged to see the senior attorneys in the firm stepping up more and taking an active role in mentoring the younger attorneys. They’ve been working closely with them on their cases, helping them navigate the complexities, and making sure they’re getting things right. It’s great to see that kind of teamwork and leadership within the firm.

Thursday, I had a quick meeting, and then I was supposed to fly down to my condo in Florida for a little break over the weekend. But we decided to drive instead because there was a forecast for some really bad weather. As it turned out, the weather wasn’t that bad, but we still chose to drive, and it ended up being a nice road trip. Once we got down there, I spent some time catching up on work. I had a long discussion with one of my attorneys about a particularly tough case. The more we dig into it, the worse the facts seem to get regarding what the other party did. It’s a stark reminder of how crucial it is to go beyond the surface when working on these cases. For us, it’s not just about the initial facts; it’s about truly understanding our clients, hearing their stories, listening to their family members, and comprehending the full impact of what they've gone through.

Image - 2024-07-23T093648.194We dig deep into the details, corroborate everything, and try to find the most compelling way to tell the story—focusing on what really matters to people, not just the typical cookie-cutter injuries. This particular case has turned out to be more troubling than we initially thought. The deeper we get, the more we see how badly this family was hurt, and I'm glad we're in a position to help them fight for justice. It’s tough work, but it’s also rewarding to know we’re making a difference.

This weekend, despite some rainy weather, we still enjoyed our time down at the beach. Holly, my wife, was, as always, extremely cautious about the sun. She’s always been very vigilant, but even more so since I had a little skin cancer scare a few years back. She likes to joke that it’s just the curse of the redheads, and she’s right—we do sunburn easily! We always laugh about how, on our honeymoon, we somehow managed to get through Cancun without me getting sunburned even on day one, which, 24 years later, is still one of her proudest achievements.

We also had a little adventure of a different kind when the electronic lock on the place we were staying malfunctioned. It was late at night, around 10 p.m., and we didn't have a physical key with us because, honestly, we never thought we’d need one. We’ve never had any issues with it before, but this time it looked like we might be locked out. Thankfully, after a bit of a scare, the lock finally caught, and we got inside. Turns out, it just needed some new batteries. A little bit of a hassle, but nothing too serious in the end.

All in all, it was a great weekend, even with the rain, and we managed to relax and recharge. We headed back early on Sunday, feeling refreshed and ready to jump into another busy week. Looking forward to seeing what this week brings!"

Paw Offices of Teddy, Robin, & Kingston

Image (16)This weekend was an amazing beach vacation for me, Teddy, the French bulldog! From the moment we arrived, I could feel the excitement in the air.

We got to the beach, and the weather was a bit rainy but still great. As soon as the car stopped, I practically jumped out, tail wagging like crazy. The smell of the ocean was so new and exciting! Once my humans set up the beach umbrella and towels, it was time for some fun. I dashed straight into the water, splashing around like I owned the place. Every wave that came in made me bounce even higher, and I loved shaking off water all over them.

Then they brought out my favorite toy! I could hardly contain my excitement. I raced up and down the beach, catching it mid-air and bringing it back for more. It felt so good to run free! After all that playing, I decided to dig in the sand. I had a blast unearthing shells and little treasures, flinging sand everywhere. My humans laughed at my antics, and I loved the attention.

There were other dogs at the beach, too! I made friends with some Labradors and even a cheeky Beagle. We all ran around together, barking and having the best time. It was a doggy paradise! After a full day of excitement, we finally settled down on our beach towels. I curled up next to my humans, exhausted but happy. I dozed off while they enjoyed some snacks, and I couldn’t help but steal a few quick glances at the waves.

As we packed up to leave, I knew I had the time of my life. My sandy paws and happy demeanor showed just how much fun I had. I can’t wait to go back to the beach again—after all, it’s always better with my humans by my side!
