Hey, so it was just a regular week here for Shane Smith Law, and nothing too crazy. Noah did end up going back up to High Point to get ready for the house repair. If you remember back in May, a tree hit it during the storm. The roof finally got repaired in June and then we got some estimates and they did the cleanup, I guess, where they got rid of some water damage and now they're finally ready to begin the repairs of the actual house. Part of me says this is crazy. You forget how much damage can be done to a house until you know somebody who's gone through it just from regular water.
But they got all the estimates, they got it to the insurance company, everything's finally approved, and they should start next week. So, Noah went back to HPU to sort of just be around while they were doing all the fixing. He's enjoyed being in Atlanta for the last month. Got to see some of his friends, and hopefully the house will be all done before school starts for him on the 12th and then for Sam on the 17th. Robin is still with us because that's Sam's dog and Sam is still in Georgia until school starts on the 17th.
I had that done, and I will get the results this next week. I know how all my clients feel when they get an MRI and then they're waiting for the review because I'm worried that some of the tendons may have been messed up in my ankle. I'm hopeful not, but we'll just wait and see, should find that out next week.
So that's been going on the last week to try to continue on my weight loss journey. But we'll see. I'm hopeful that I'll go to the doctor this next week and they'll say there's no ripped tendons, it's just a sprained ankle and I can start walking, but I'll see. The toe is a big issue right now too, because like I say, it was broken. So, it wasn't just a crack in it, it actually broke a part of the bone off. It was broken clean, a chip all down the side, so it wasn't displaced, nothing like that. It's there, but it's obviously weak. That's a big concern for me. I don't know how long that'll take to get me out of this silly boot, but that's where I'm at. I'm hopeful that I will be out of it quickly.
I did go shooting with my dad and Noah before he went back to High Point. Mostly just pistols. We go to a local indoor range here, which is pretty convenient, but I am looking for an outdoor range. So, if anybody knows where one is, a good outdoor range in South Atlanta or South Charlotte, I'd like to know, so I can shoot some a little further distance. If you know of one, please send it to info@shanesmithlaw.com. I'd love to hear it. Otherwise, we're just doing stuff around the house and working on cleaning stuff up. Hope everybody's doing well. As always, if you are in pain, call Shane!

So, let me drop some wisdom from my cozy perch here. While you’re out enjoying the summer festivities, remember to stay sharp and drive safely. The fireworks and celebrations are all well and good, but they’re no excuse for letting your guard down on the road. Safe driving isn’t just a good idea; it’s essential.
So, from me, Kingston, and all of us at Shane Smith Law, have fun, stay safe, and remember that even though the holiday can be a blast, your safety should always come first.
