Hey, so this is the week of the 4th of July, and it was a busy week because I was out Thursday and Friday. I think almost everybody was out on Thursday. I was out on Friday as well. So, I was busy trying to squeeze a week's worth of work into three days, and that was tough. It was very, I don't want to say chaotic, but very jam-packed. The meetings were tight, and the schedule was pretty compact.
I have something, I call my present drawer, in which I keep some presents in a drawer in my closet. It's usually for my wife, but sometimes for other people too. Throughout the year as I see stuff that she wants, I'll just buy it and put it in. But we've been pretty busy this year and with traveling and going back and forth, my present drawer was weak. Also, some of it's in my Charlotte house, which I haven't been to in a little while. So I didn't have everything here that I wanted. I was still able to find stuff and get it in, but I may have some more stuff coming in the mail throughout the next month that I thought was going to be here before the 4th of July.
One of the cool things Holly had seen while we were in Japan was this soap dispenser that makes a little flower on your palm. She'd wanted one of those, so Sam got her that, and that was kind of cool. Some clothes and stuff like that, and some fan art and the little statue. Those are the big things. We started the day early. I think she opened most of the stuff from me. Then as the boys woke up in the morning, she got theirs and then her parents and my parents came over for lunch and hung out with us. We had a butter pecan bundt cake for her birthday. Her mother had made some lasagna for lunch and then we ordered a pizza and wings to go with it because when we added my family to it, we were concerned it might run out. Didn't have any issues, but the boys enjoyed having a cheese pizza that they ate later on anyway.
I think the ladies went to see Quiet Place the first day with the boys and Holly's mom. So, that was fun. She enjoyed that, liked the movie, said it was pretty cool and scary. She likes that franchise and she said she was not disappointed, which was good.
Then me and my friend went by the Lego store, looked around briefly. Then I had some work I had to do, catch up on planning for the next month and quarter for work. So I knocked that out and then went back and met the wives and just chilled the rest of the time. We also watched one of the newer movies that had come out. It was okay.
One thing we're looking at is when we were in Japan, we did some karaoke and they have a little booth where it's private karaoke with just your little group, so it's not on the big stage like most of the American places. I thought that was fun. So I'm looking to figure out the best karaoke machine to get for the house. So if anybody has any suggestions, I would love to know. Send it to info@shanesmithlaw.com. Something with a mic and it puts the words up on the screen and some background music. It was cool, the one that had videos that popped up behind it. So it was just a little more than just the ones with just the words. That's something I would like to find. That was our weekend. I hope everybody else is doing well and had a great 4th of July as we celebrate the birth of our country. Remember, if you are in pain, call Shane!
