Weekend Organization: Turning Chaos Into Slightly Less Chaotic Chaos

Hey. So, we had a fairly chill week, I would say. Noah's still up at his place at High Point University. He had to have a water restoration company come in. They've been there all week. Basically, haven't even started fixing things, just getting out things that were ruined because of the leak from the tree that hit back in end of April. It seemed like every time they thought they were done, they found some more. They found a little bit in the crawl space. It looked like the floor had been remodeled maybe in the past, and they'd used some sort of mostly sawdust-type wood. And when water hit it, it just disintegrated a lot of it. So that created a bunch of issues with the floor, which was a surprise for all of us, and we didn't know that was there.

So, they've been there all week, just doing stuff, getting it ready, dealing with the insurance company, and basically just getting out all the stuff that was ruined. So, cutting out drywall, cutting out parts of the ceiling, parts of the floor, and carpet. I'm glad Noah's up there while all that's going on.

UFCXFor those of us in Peachtree City, it's been fairly quiet. We did get the final news that the USC fight we're going to go to this summer has been changed. It was supposed to be Conor McGregor versus Michael Chandler, which was a massive fight, and we're big Michael Chandler fans, so we were really looking forward to that and thought it would be great. And that is not happening now. There's news all over the internet about Chandler and McGregor being canceled.

They did sub it out with some good fights, though, which we're looking forward to. Alex Piero versus Jiri Prochazka rematch. My big fear there is that Jiri took it on short notice and may not have trained specifically for Alex's calf kicks, which just killed him the first time they fought, but we'll see.

And then the co-main event, Brian Ortega versus Diego Lopes looks to be pretty cool as well. Then there's Ian Garry versus Michael Page, which should be a monster fight, I would say. Michael Page is an up-and-coming new to the UFC, but his highlights when he was in different leagues were just awesome. He looks like he's going to be a real powerhouse in his weight class. Ian Garry has been on a roll. He's undefeated too, 14 and zero, so he's a big fighter as well. So, it should be a really, really cool fight to watch. That'll be in two weeks. But we were sad that it wasn't going to be Michael Chandler. That would've been awesome to see live.

We're getting ready for that. That's the last week in June when UFC does their fan expo. So, you get to meet people and see the fight. We had to finalize some stuff for the trip. We're going to meet one of our friends out there. Work-wise, things are going well. We continue to work in our different divisions and work on growing the company.

I took away some extra fat and tightened that down as I'm trying to lose weight prior to an event at the end of August called Dragon Con. We're really also just trying to lean out and get a little bit more into shape. So, he changed my workout program, changed my diet, and what I'm supposed to eat.

I did not really go out last week. I went to my parents' house for Father's Day. We celebrated my mother's birthday that day as well. Hers had happened earlier in that week, and due to scheduling issues, we all celebrated on Sunday. That was fun, saw my parents on Father's Day and got to see my boys.

Image - 2024-06-18T163623.688We spent a lot of time this weekend cleaning up, trying to get everything organized. We went on a trip last year to Dragon Con, actually. We'd been up in Charlotte the week before, and then as soon as Dragon Con was over, we went back to Charlotte. So, nothing was organized, and we spent a bunch of the weekend just getting that all in order. Seeing what we might have to get prior to this trip at the end of August and what we might need to reorder or what worked, and just getting it all together and ready to go.

After our trip to Japan, we had ordered one of those skylight frames where you hang it on the wall, and it rotates through all the digital images. With their app now, you can send everything to it. It's super easy. And I was excited because we just sent all of our Japan vacation photos to this picture frame. So, it just cycles through them all, so we don't have to worry about it. Over the weekend I thought, hey, this would be a great thing to get pictures of my boys on. So, we did that. I'm really excited about it. I think it's a great way to sort of get all the pictures off your phone and to where I can see them better and they just cycle through. Once you get them there, you don't have to do a lot of organizing. It just happens.

So that's something to try. If you've never seen the skylight thing, I recommend taking a look at it. We had done it in the past when my grandmother was in a nursing home. She didn't have a lot of wall space and couldn't have a bunch of pictures. We put one of those up there and then we could update it with pictures as well. And she really enjoyed it. So that's just something to consider. Something we ran into.

And then I also spent a bunch of time trying to clean up my office, just get rid of some older paperwork. You know how that goes. Paperwork just accumulates over and over. So, the goal was to clean some of that out. I'd say we're about 70% done with that. So, making good progress, and looking forward to having it all nice and neat and orderly together. Hope you all had a good week! Stay safe out there and remember, if you are in pain, call Shane!

Paw Offices of Teddy, Robin, & Kingston

Image - 2024-05-14T122709.096So it's been a busy week at home. Mom and Dad have been going out. They've been walking a lot. Dad sometimes walks in the morning with Robin. But a lot of times at night, after dinner, Mom and Dad have been going out for a walk and taking me and Robin. But can you believe the indignity of this? They decided I was too slow and too old, so now I have to ride halfway in a stroller. This is utterly ridiculous, and I feel so, so weak. But it does let me go out with them and I can just sit up there, and cruise around and be sort of like a passenger as Mommy pushes me, which that's cool because I don't have to do any work and I can just enjoy the scenery. What do you think, guys?
